RBAC - Remove "distribution groups I belong to"

Hi,

I want to let my users manage distribution groups they're designed to be manager.

So I edited the Default Role Assignment Policy and I checked "MyDistributionGroups" but not "MyDistributionGroupMembership".

But when I login with a user on its ECP, he can see "distribution groups I own" (exactly what I need) but he can also see and browse "distribution groups I belong to" (exactly what I don't want)

How could I hide the "distribution groups I belong to" feature for end users ?

Thanks in advance !

BR,

Piotr

Hello,

The Exchange team wrote a blog post and script to address this a while back, "Manage-GroupManagementRole.ps1" - http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/11/18/3408844.aspx

If you follow these steps you will be able to create a new custom user role that will only allow users to manage their own groups.

Hi,

I suggest to create a customized role and assign it to a role assignee.

Please refer to the Management role customization section in this document for more information.

If you need any help during Management role customization, please let me know.

Best Regards.

Hi Sean, Hi Lynn,

Actually, I followed the sean's link but (logged as end user) I'm still able to browse and join a distribution group

What I need is (in preference order) :

- Completely hide the left pannel "distribution group I belong to"

- Grey out all buttons from "distribution group I belong to" to prevent user to browse/join/leave distribution groups

How could I perform such configuration ?

Regards,

Piotr
